About the Course
To make a case against death as the end of existence, the presenter, Gary Werdesheim, begins with a look at Dr. Raymond Moody’s groundbreaking study of the near-death experience, as well as more recent findings. This is followed by an examination of the esoteric teachings of the world’s major religions, and the primary method used by their practitioners to experience higher states of consciousness, illustrating the legitimacy of the near-death experience. This section also includes some of the latest scientific corroborations.
Part three revolves around Bill and Judy Guggenheim’s study of the numerous ways our departed loved ones attempt to communicate with us directly; not through psychics or mediums. And, lastly, the course looks at the arguments for reincarnation.
When time permits, the presentation includes a showing of the award-winning documentary, “Experiencing The Soul – Before Birth, During Life, After Death.” This film by Eliot Jay Rosen features The Dalai Lama, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Sri Daya Mata, Joan Borysenko, Stephen Levine, Ram Dass, Jean Houston, and many others.
"The Case Against Death" may be presented in a variety of formats: from a condensed two-hour session, to a full presentation of four two-hour sessions that includes the film and ample time for class discussion; other formats include two or three two-hour sessions. All sessions conclude with time for questions.
